Lab Tests Main Page
Lab tests are an important tool in helping clinicians accurately identify the imbalances that lead to disease. I rely on tests to provide definitive information about issues, such as fungal and viral infections, heavy metal and phthalate exposure, as well as nutrient deficiencies.
Each individual has different risk factors such as illnesses, environmental exposures and genetics that help determine which tests are a priority. You will want to discuss these with a practitioner to decide which tests will offer the greatest benefit to you and those that are the highest priority, the cost of the tests, and the instructions for home collection (urine, stool, saliva or swab) or whether you will need to take your test kit to a phlebotomy lab for a blood draw.
Your doctor may be able to order these tests for you. The advantage to having your own doctor order the tests is that they may be able to bill the tests through your insurance plan. Call your doctor’s office to find out whether this is possible.
If you are not able to access the tests that you need through your doctor, call my office and I will help you determine your best options. Ideally, you will be best served by working with an integrative medical practitioner who specializes in the conditions that you are seeking help for. However, this isn’t always possible as these types of specialists are not common.
I see clients in my practice in Port Townsend, Washington, and also offer phone sessions. I also provide a free 15 minute initial phone consultation to determine whether I am the best practitioner to help you with your specific health issues. At that time I may refer you to other experts or educational materials to help you get started on your road to recovery.
